Cyprus has three airports, one each in Ercan, Larnaca and Paphos, a flight to the Ercan Airport is the best option for those visiting Kyrenia. Ercan is in Northern Cyprus and Kyrenia is hardly 32 kilometres or 20 miles from the airport, you can hire a taxi from Ercan Airport to Kyrenia, a one way taxi charges are around £35, there are no direct flights to Ercan, all flights stop over in Turkey. The other two airports that is Larnaca Airport and Paphos Airport are in South Cyprus, the road distance from Larcana International Airport to Kyrenia is about 70 kilometres and a one way taxi charges form Larnaca to Kyrenia are approximately £45, the Paphos International Airport is still further away and is around 120 kilometres from Kyrenia, private taxis charge around £100 to Kyrenia.

There are two main industrial ports in Northern Cyprus, one in Famagusta and the other in Kyrenia, those who wish to enter Kyrenia via yacht need to get permission from immigration and other custom formalities will need to be checked before allowing you to enter Kyrenia harbour. You can also travel to Kyrenia by road, Train facilities are not available in Kyrenia, so cars are a feasible option, in Kyrenia Car rentals are cheap and some companies provide facilities like pick up and drop off from the airport, the bookings can be done online, the cars available include manual as well as automatic cars. A/C cars can be booked and most of the cars have a right hand drive, the requirements for hiring a car include - the person should be over 25 years of age, he/she should have a valid driving license, this can be from the country they belong or an International Driving License. The rest of the traffic guidelines are same as those followed in US, the traffic moves on the left hand side, seat belts are compulsory, talking on mobile phones is prohibited while driving, and children below 5 years of age are not allowed to be seated in the front seat.
